This may be how scientists envision their career path; however, it rarely happens without bumps, hurdles, and pitfalls. Admitting to those struggles is difficult in a society and discipline for top performers and high achievers - but it is the first step to finding the best path forward. This session aims to provide insights across science and education, from early career to the leaders in our association, that will open the door for a conversation around how we should anticipate, accommodate, and perhaps even celebrate our failures in the road of academic life. As we continue to find the new normal in our society after the last 5 years, it is increasingly important for us to provide a place within our association to support and provide resources for our members who are overcoming these situations in their own careers.
