Anatomy Learning Specialist III (Equivalent to Associate Prof)
Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Windsor Campus, Canada
My journey as an Anatomist began in 1994, when I completed my MSc in Clinical Anatomy at Manipal Academy of Higher Education in Manipal India. My first teaching job was at Oxford Dental School in my hometown of Bangalore India. In May of 1995, I was appointed to the role of Assistant Professor of Anatomy at Manipal College of Medical Sciences in Pokhara, Nepal. In 1999, I moved back to Bangalore and accepted a position as Scientific Writer at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). After being away from teaching for 2 years, I realized it was still my passion, so I accepted a teaching position at the Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences. In Nov 2002, I migrated to Canada and continued my teaching journey in the Division of Anatomy at the University of Alberta. While at the University of Alberta, I held the position of Faculty lecturer from 2003 to 2010. The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry-Windsor Campus has been my home since 2011. I currently hold the titles: Anatomy Ancillary Staff-Learning Specialist III (Associate Prof.), Anatomy Lead, Gross Anatomy Lab coordinator, and SIM lab coordinator for the Windsor campus. I completed the University Teaching Certificate (UTC) in 2013. I am eternally grateful to the donors, teachers and students from whom I have gained invaluable knowledge and experience.
