Caite Miller is a British Columbia-based medical artist and animator who is constantly seeking out new ways to unite science and storytelling. After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Combined Biology and Psychology from the University of Victoria in 2022, Caite completed the Biomedical Visualization and Communication (BMVC) program at the University of British Columbia in 2023.
Caite worked alongside Beatrix Yu, Katherine Herring, and Charita Goyal under the supervision of Larry Bafia, Ishan Dixit, Claudia Krebs, and Kim Campbell to create a three-dimensional animation teaching tool for midwifery students learning the cardinal movements of labour through the bony pelvis. This animation will be integrated into the Pocket Pelvis augmented reality app, a learning tool for medical and midwifery students developed by the UBC HIVE.
