Samuel Gutherz received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University in Neurobiology. He earned a Ph.D. in evolutionary biology and ecology at Ohio University advised by Dr. Patrick O'Connor. After completing his degree, he took a postion as an instructor in the Anatomy department at Midwestern University, where he is currently employed. In addition to his teaching of medical anatomy, his research is focused on skeletal evolution in birds and dinosaurs, specifically focused on skeletal pneumaticity. He also enjoys games, sports, climbing, and a quality craft beer.
