I am an established researcher based on the east coast of Canada. My lab studies the skeleton, primarily its development and its maintenance. Check out our website at www.bonedevelopmentlab.ca - we study placodes, patterning, epithelial-mesenchymal interactions, skeletal condensations, mechanical forces on bone tissue. Our focus is on understanding the ocular skeleton and the effects of microgravity and vibration on bone development and homeostasis. Chicken embryos, zebrafish and cavefish are our model organisms.
While I work at a primarily undergraduate univeristy, I do supervise undergraduate and graduate students. I am passionate about supporting trainees in research and on improving inclusion within science for everyone. I'd love to speak to you about our research, provide career advice or anything else of mutual interest. Don't be shy.
