Dr. Surajit Ghatak has been a faculty at Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, and is a dedicated, resourceful teacher with 23 years’ experience in medical teaching,
A graduate and Postgraduate of prestigious Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, India he is a recipient of Army Commander Western Command commendation in 2009 for outstanding and exemplary work done as Professor and Head at Army College of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He is a Life Member of Anatomical Society of India and Member National Academy of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. A Fellow of International Medical Sciences Academy and a Fellow of Royal Society of Biology, London, U.K, he is also a Member of the Bioethics Unit of the International Network of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics.
He has been a Co-opted member of the National Curriculum Planning Committee of Anatomical Society of India and Elected member of the Executive Committee of Anatomical Society of India 2002-2003 and 2013-14, 2014-15. He was subsequently elected President of Anatomical Society of India from November 2017 to November 2018.
At present Dr. Surajit Ghatak is a member National Editorial Board of Journal of Anatomical Society of India since 2013 and Associate Editor, African Journal of Biology and Medical Research [AJBMR] since 2019.
He has authored two books in Anatomy and has numerous International and National papers to his credit including PubMed publications.
Currently working at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Jodhpur as Professor & Head Anatomy Department since inception of the Institute.
He has also worked as Dean Students’ Welfare and Chairman of Students’ Ethical committee from 2016 to 2023.
