Christopher Smith is a Postdoctoral Fellow in Biological Anthropology at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. He received his master’s in medical illustration from the Art as Applied to Medicine department at Johns Hopkins in 2014 and received his PhD in Biological Anthropology from the City University of New York in 2023. Chris’s research interests lie in the evolution of human cranial morphology and neurosensory systems. His current work combines morphometric modeling and digital visualization techniques to understand functional and spatial constraints on the evolution of the human inner ear labyrinth. He also has a passion for scientific communication and is a board-certified medical illustrator.
