Jason is a PhD trained Certified Athletic Therapist, and tenured Associate Professor in the Max Rady College of Medicine at the University of Manitoba. He has served as the course director for the medical program’s preclinical MSK course since 2011, and is a past-member of the medical admissions committee. As a clinician and MSK educator, he possesses more than 30 years of experience in course/curriculum development and program accreditation across medical and health science fields. In 2021, he was awarded the Dr. and Mrs. H. H. Saunderson Award for Excellence in Teaching - presented to a University of Manitoba educator who has demonstrated continued teaching excellence and who has made ongoing and significant contributions to advancing teaching and learning at both the U of M, as well as at the national / international level. His current research is focused on exploring how curricular design and educational activities influence MSK learning and knowledge retention across the health sciences.
