Lydia Strattan earned her PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Kentucky, where her research focused on harnessing neuroplasticity to restore breathing function following cervical spinal cord injury. As part of her graduate studies, she also completed a Graduate Certificate in Anatomical Instruction for Gross Anatomy and Neuroanatomy. This led to her current position as an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine where she is the course director for Medical Anatomy. She also teaches A&P and neuroscience in a variety of health sciences courses at UPitt. Dr. Strattan's research interests lie in the evaluation and improvement of pedagogical approaches in the new medical curriculum that launched at UPitt in 2023.
