Dr. Stephanie Villalba received her B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology and M.S. in Biology from Louisiana Tech University, Ruston, LA. She earned her doctorate from the Department of Cellular Biology and Anatomy at Louisiana State University Health in Shreveport, LA (LSUHS) studying the role of pharmacogenetics in the treatment of neurocardiac dysfunction in two mouse models of epilepsy. Dr. Villalba is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, where she teaches human anatomy and physiology, neuroanatomy, and histology, and Gratis Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiology at LSUHS where she teaches human gross anatomy. Dr. Villalba’s current research focus is geared towards medical and anatomical educational research along with neuroscience research.
