Assistant Professor
University of Mississippi Medical Center
As a graduate of the PhD in Clinical Anatomy Program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, I received extensive training in pedagogy and the anatomical sciences. My dissertation research focused on study strategies and time management techniques employed in Master level anatomy courses. I am now an Assistant Professor in the Department of Advanced Biomedical Education at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where I teach gross anatomy and histology to Master's, PhD, medical, and dental students. I serve as a a course director for courses in both the graduate and medical school. Additionally, I am the Assistant Director of the Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences program. I have incorporated some of the interventions I developed as part of my dissertation work in the Masters course I direct. Currently, I am involved in research projects that focus on active learning in the classroom. These sessions include the integration of 3D digital models and escape rooms. Escape rooms are what my poster presentation focuses on this year, and the goal of these sessions is to promote deeper thinking about the content and collaboration among the students.
