First Year Medical Student
Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine
I am Emily Jagenburg, a first-year medical student at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, proudly representing my hometown of Shelby Township, Michigan. My academic pursuits and athletic ventures are rather diverse.
Despite being originally recruited for softball at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, I found another athletic passion in college rugby. I thoroughly enjoyed the challenges of the sport which I believe shaped my character and instilled vales of teamwork and perseverance.
My passion for life extends beyond the playing field into the world of research. As a research assistant at the Henry Ford Department of Emergency Medicine, I found a love for scientific inquiry which served as a catalyst for my apsiration to become a physician.
In this time I have embraced bodybuilding and earned a spot on Team USA as an amateur. The pursuit of physical excellence parallels my dedication to academic and professional growth.
In my spare time, I find joy in the mundane nature of life. Whether it is enjoying leisuerly dog walks with my husband, reeling in fish, or keeping up with the Detroit Lions, I cherish time spent with loved ones.
As an aspiring physician, I remain steadfast in my commitment to making a meaningful impact in the world of reseach and clinical medicine. It is my hope that my diverse experiences and unwavering determination will allow me to reach my goals.
