Assistant Professor of Anatomy

Aaron is an Assistant Professor of Anatomy at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. He lectures in the Neuroscience course and serves as the block lead for the Gastrointestinal and Genitourinary systems in the medical curriculum, and teaches in the Masters of Arts in Biomedical Sciences program. He pursues research projects aimed at maximizing the utility of the human anatomical donors as resources for both educational and research endeavors. He obtained his PhD from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, TN during which he studied the influence of formalin fixation and neurodegeneration on the lipidome of subcortical regions in the human brain. Prior to graduate school, he served as an anatomy lab demonstrator at Ross University School of Medicine in Picard, Dominica and as a human anatomy prosector at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine at the East Lansing, Macomb and Detroit campuses. He received his undergradate training in kinesiology at Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. He is originally from Cadillac, MI and when he is not teaching anatomy, he enjoys spending time outdoors, in or near water or woods, preferably with his dog, Brooklyn.
