I am an anatomist and bioanthropologist based in the greater New York City area. My research interests include the evolution, development and diseases of the postnasal airway and basicranium.
Much of my work has focused on the anatomical basis of middle ear disease (otitis media), normal development of the cartilaginous Eustachian tube (CET) and reconstruction of the soft tissue morphology of Neanderthals and mid-Pleistocene Homo in search of phylogneetically informative autapomorphies.
